How to get to/from Budapest Airport (BUD)

Public transport – easiest & cheapest

    100E Airport Express Bus

    • Direct shuttle between the airport and downtown (stops: Deák Ferenc tér, Kálvin tér and Astoria).
    • Runs 24/7; daytime frequency ~ every 7–10 minutes, night ~ every 20–40 minutes.
    • Ticket: special “airport shuttle-bus single ticket” — about 2,500 HUF (or a 1,000 HUF “add-on” if you already have a valid pass).
    • Tickets can be bought and validated on board with bank card (via Pay&GO), or via the official BudapestGO app.

    200E Bus + M3 Metro Line — budget option

    • 200E runs between the airport and Kőbánya-Kispest metro station.
    • From there, take M3 metro toward Deák Ferenc tér (central hub).
    • Use regular BKK tickets/passes. This route is slightly slower and involves a transfer — mostly suitable for those on a tighter budget or outside 100E’s schedule.

    Taxi / Private transfer

For convenience (especially with heavy luggage or odd arrival times), official taxis or private shuttle services are available at the airport. Typical taxi cost is higher than public transport, but offers door-to-door comfort.
