Sofia Iris Bimpli

Prof. Dr. Sofia-Iris Bibli is W3 Professor and Head of the Vascular Dysfunction Department at the European Center for Angioscience, Medical Faculty, Heidelberg University in Germany. Her research focuses on endothelial and lymphatic biology, with a particular interest in how redox signaling, metabolism, and regulated cell-death programs shape vascular growth, tissue repair, aging, and cardiovascular disease. She is a principal investigator in several collaborative research programs, including CRC1366, CRC1531, CRC1177 and the DZHK, and her work has been recognized by multiple awards, including the Hector Fellow Academy Research Career Development Award, the Sharpey-Schafer Lecture Prize, and the Oskar Lapp Research Prize.
