EUniWell – the European University for Well-Being is one of the European University Alliances supported by the European Commission, established in 2020 within the Erasmus+ Programme. The alliance brings together twelve universities across Europe with a shared mission: to promote individual, societal, and environmental well-being through education, research, innovation, and social responsibility.

In response to global challenges such as climate change, conflict, and social fragmentation, EUniWell is built on common values including democracy, diversity, inclusivity, research-based thinking, and international cooperation. These values enable students, researchers, educators, and staff to collaborate across borders and apply their shared knowledge to real societal challenges.

At the ORPHEUS2026 Conference in Budapest – centred on sustainable networks and quality enhancement in doctoral education – several presentations and workshops explicitly address wellbeing-oriented themes that resonate with EUniWell’s mission to understand and improve individual, institutional and societal wellbeing and these elements of the program are organized in partnership and with the support of EUniWell.

This convergence of EUniWell’s wellbeing agenda with the ORPHEUS2026 programme underscores the importance of holistic, interdisciplinary approaches that support doctoral researchers, supervisors and academic communities in pursuing resilient and inclusive educational practices.
